I arrived at the house late at night to a beautiful mama in a long black dress laboring quietly. I couldn’t even tell she was in labor except for the occasional moment where she would stop, close her eyes, and breath deeply. Some women are very vocal in labor, but this mama was the strong and quiet type. I’m sure it has something to do with the two sleeping children in the other room too. Even when it was time to push, she was absolutely silent except for the occasional grunt or whimper. So when a big, healthy, 9 pound 12 ounce baby boy emerged en caul we were all amazed. It was a truly beautiful birth complete with baby Noah getting his first adjustment from his chiropractor dad just before everyone turned in for the night.
I have been blessed with the most amazing gifts. My 4 boys, my husband and my passion for childbirth have all led me to where I am today and continue to spur me on each day. Each step along the path of this crazy, beautiful life that I have the privilege of living has been humbling and awe inspiring.
