I had been anticipating this session for weeks after Baby J’s mommy had scheduled a newborn session with me. I didn’t have to wait very long either, Baby J was born an entire 3 weeks early. He was tiny and still pretty furry, but completely healthy. He was just one week old at the time of our session and this little guy made me work for it too! I just could not get him into a deep sleep for the first hour and a half of our session. It was so worth the wait though, because once he finally did settle down he was a breeze to work with.

Newborns always have been my favorite clients to work with. Yeah, they can be fussy and they might pee on me, but they are just so snuggly and soft, and working with newbies is so rewarding for me. I am honored when a parent comes to me to document the first days of their child’s life. Those times are so busy and babies grow up so fast that those precious moments can just slip away, so it is such a privilege for me to be the one that captures those images that mom and dad will look back on months and years down the road and remember just how Baby J looked. I really had a great time hanging out with little Baby J, his mommy and his brother for a few hours. Can’t wait to come back in a month for their family session to see how he’s grown!

Look at his little belly button. You can totally tell how new he is. And of course, I am a sucker for baby feet.
